Q: I purchased a business and wish to insure it. What is the Shar‘ee ruling regarding insuring one’s business? Similarly, explain the law of insuring one's vehicle.

Q: I would like to know if I can rent out my outhouse/granny flat to a Hindu lady? It is directly behind my house and very close. Of course she will probably have her god statue and TV etc.

Q: An employee works for a company and his stipulation is not set at the beginning. He is paid an amount less than the market rate for such a job. Secondly, the employer places the entire burden of taxes on the employee, whereas the employer is required by law to pay 7.65%. The employee works because he cannot find another job currently, is this Zulm on the part of the employer?

Is it permissible for him to take on clients on the side and complete work in the office and keep the compensation for that? What if he pays for his own supplies such as papers, pens, etc?

1. I have made niyyat to give someone something then later I changed my decision and thought I will not give. Is it allowed for me to change my decision after making niyyat to give to that person?

2) I have made niyyat to give a dress as charity to Zaid, then is it allowed for me to give the same dress for Umar as charity, because I found Umar is more deserving than Zaid? Can I change my decision this way? Whenever I make niyyat to give something to someone is it necessary that I give that thing to the same person I made niyyat for or I can give it to someone else whom I like?

Q: We have two tenants in our attic and they both use the same kitchen as us to cook their pork. What would be the ideal thing for us to do?

Q: I have recently been offered and accepted employment at a firm of auditors. Only now has it come to my attention that the partners of the firm are all Jewish. There are others working there who are of other religions. The firm is part of an international firm that isn't Jewish. Working here would it be allowed and permissible?

Q: My question is one night I prepared little macaroni. I ate from it and then I kept a little for my brother to eat in the morning because by that time my brother was asleep and he didn't know that I made macaroni, but the other day I had to fast so when I woke up for sehri I ate that very macaroni which I kept for my brother. Am I sinning this way? Will it become his haq after I decide to give him? will I have to ask maafi for not giving him? I am afraid whether I have eaten the haq of my brother.

Q: Is it permissible to buy vehicles which are repossessed by the bank from bank auctions?

Q: I live in America, and it is impossible to buy a house here without a mortgage from the bank. The bank charges interest on the mortgage. Is it permissible to buy a house on mortgage?
