ISIS

Q: Many brothers from our community are recently speaking positively about ISIS being the correct khilafa. Without getting into many unnecessary debates or arguments, I have been unable to debunk these brother's theories or supporting arguments. They seem to be convincing many others that this is indeed the jihad of Imam Mahdi and are preparing to embark on the journey to join. Much of their argument is based on the fact that Isis is not murdering anyone. That they are living just as the sahabah lived, and they are awaiting Imam Mahdi's arrival. Please guide regarding ISIS and the signs of the correct khilafa.

Playing football

Q: Is the playing of football (as opposed to watching) permissible if one's satar is not exposed, Salaah with Jamat is not missed, there is no swearing, arguing etc and the intention is to keep physically fit?

Listing one's secular achievements on a poster or website

Q:

1) Is it correct for an Alim to list on his Tour Posters/Website etc all his past secular achievements together with which English or American university it was achieved in as well as details of his current secular studies?

2) Is it correct for an Alima to list her secular achievements on her Website and her bayaan notices etc? The thinking in both 1 and 2 above may be to attract secular inclined individuals.

Free software for students

Q: One company gives software free for students. Those students who have university email addresses can apply for this free software. I am a student but my university doesn't provide us with an email address. If I download this software and crack it for my use as a student, then is it a sin? They provide free for all students, if I don't have a university email still I am a student.

Befriending kuffaar

Q: Four days ago a Hindu friend of mine was showing me the idol and addressing it as god and asking me like "do you know what this god's name is?" I in my heart I knew that Allah is the only lord and there is no god except Allah but I told him I don't know his name and then he told me it's name and then I said I have heard it in some movies. Was there any kufr in my statement because I did not tell him directly that the idol is not god and when he asked me "what is the name of this god?" I said I don't know. By seeing the scenario it looks like I don't know that god's name (but in my heart I knew Allah is the only god). I usually read the shahdah after every wudu. This happened on Thursday and I started getting doubts about these statements on Monday. So if that was kufr and I have prayed Salaah for four days, should I pray again but I read the shahadah Thursday itself after wudu. Were my salaah valid?

Surrogate mother

Q: We are married for the past 9 years. We have no kids. We tried for all possible treatments including IVF but no success. Medical problem is in my husband and me too. So if my husband does a second marriage still he is unable to conceive naturally, then will surrogate mothers be permissible in our case. We want to do his second marriage and do surrogacy with her, if allowed in Islam. I have read a lot about surrogacy that it is not allowed but in our case when naturally we cannot have children and our relationship is disturbed a lot due to this lack of kids, can we do surrogacy.
