Q: My question is about earning and 'ghaneemat'. I work and earn a salary at the end of each month. Is it 'ghaneemat'? Or ghaneemat is some extra money you got out of no where?

Q: A close friend of mine informed me that it is haraam to read Harry Potter books and watch the movies. I always watch them with family because they don’t contain any sexual remarks and such things. Are they indeed haraam?

Q: I have been prescribed 3 medicines from the doctor for dermatitis and they all contain cetostearyl alcohol. I would like to know if this is halal to use? I’ve come across answers concerning cetyl, cetearyl and stearyl alcohol but they aren’t the answers I’m looking for. 

Q: Is minoxidil halal or haraam? Minoxidil or rogaine is used for hair regrowth but I am using it to help me grow my beard. The ingredients include alcohol, propylene glycol, purified water, etc. Is it permissible to use it since it includes alcohol?

Q: When making mu'aanaqah, should one put his head to the right or left? Some people go to the left and some go to the right sometimes causes a head bump.

Q: I have a female cat. Many people told me, including my cat doctor to get her spayed (spayed is a surgery to remove female cat uterus and ovaries to prevent her giving birth). My cat doctor told me spayed has many benefits (including health benefits because many female cat got cancerous cells after giving birth to lots of kitten and also less population so kittens cant roam homeless and starve on street also female cat will have less risk to get lost or injured in a traffic accident in searching of a mate which is because female cat dont go on a heat after spayed). My question is! Does Islam allow us to do female cat spayed? Is that haram?

Q: Today, my mother ordered my to kill a lizard that was in our house. It was the size of an index finger. I truly hate killing insects and pests and prefer to just take them outside. But in the heat of the moment I killed it. I am feeling very bad about it because I value life of other beings. I am still feeling bad about it. I really want to forget that but I cant. Is what I did haram?

Q: My question concerns the modern day sharing of females' pictures and videos on different social media platforms. What is the Shariah ruling regarding the matter?

Note that those things are already viewable by general public and are not obscene, I just intend to share any video or picture I like for educational/humorous or other beneficial purpose. 

Q: If I am reading a book and there is a human picture, will looking at it be sinful? If I am outside and see a picture on a billboard is it haraam to look at? If someone wants to show me a picture of a potential spouse is it haraam to look at? I do not want to incur sin, so please advise me.

Q: Is it permissible to keep a dog outside the house and take care of it? Also, if one keeps puppies with the intention of looking after them, will one be sinful?
