Social security parent's fund

Q: Please confirm if it is Islamically allowed to be on social security parents as I have heard that it is from money that is from unislamic sources such as riba and gambling etc, and we should not partake in it. I know that some people pretend to be a single mother when their not. They are lying and that is impermissible. They lie to obtain more money for themselves, their husband and their kids. But I am telling the truth me and my husband are on fortnightly payments. My children also receive some money from the government on a fortnightly basis. Is this allowed? Please confirm as I am very concerned about this issue.

Employment contract

Q: A father has a business and employs his son as a manager of the business. The father stipulates the salary of the son as follows:

On a monthly basis the son will receive R2000 (for example) as salary, which will escalate 10% yearly, and together with that, the son will share 50% of the profits yearly with the father, after deducting business expenses. Is this permissible?

Travelling without a mahram

Q: I have to travel with two female friends about 3 hours from Melbourne. My husband has given me permission to go and I will not be spending the night away from him. This trip is for business and it is necessary for me to attend. Can I go to this meeting or should I not go?

Collecting data on alcohol

Q: I run a market research company. One of my clients is doing a research project with regards to alcohol. They requested that I help collect the data for them. This will entail getting vodka drinkers to complete an online interview. Is this permissible?

The correct place for a woman

Q: My husband and I both work and pay bills together. I feel that because I work as well he should be helping me with housework. I do the cooking and taking care of the kitchen and laundry and most of the ironing. It's just the cleaning the I need help with most times. And sometimes I want him to do his own ironing. What is the ruling in that? He seems to think it is a wife's duty to do all that work and I'm not fulfilling it. Is he right?

Fulfilling one's promise

Q: If I gave my word to a new employer to move to his company and at the last minute and after he stopped looking for someone to fill my new position I changed my mind and decided to stay at my current company. If I stay my new employers work will be affected and if I leave my old work will to be affected as they have not found a replacement for me yet. If I change my mind at the last minute to move to a new company, is it haram because I gave my word to move? Please help me I need to answer both employers tomorrow.
