Q: Is ring ceremony (Engagement, Mangni) haraam in Islam as this ritual involves physical contact of exchanging rings between the new proposed couple before the Nikaah?
Q: I wanted to ask, I've got an auntie who doesn't go to a house where a child is born or where someone dies for 40 days. She believes if she goes where a child is born the mother of the child or the child will be ill is that in Islam or in the quran?
Q:
1. What rule of lost property should be followed if one sees a page with the Mubaarak Name of الله تعالى lying on the floor?
2. If one saw صلى الله عليه وسلم تسليما كثيرا كثيرا on a page, picked it up and because there was no immediate place available to leave it put it into his copy of القرآن الكريم, he then forgot about it until he went home to another country. What happens if he burnt it?
3. What happens in a similar situation where words are written in a foreign language (that one does not understand) on a page which is found lying on the Mataaf sharif and because of many carrying duaas he assumes that that is the nature of the page and does as mentioned above (returns home, burns it)?
Q: Why should we follow an Imam such as Abu Hanifa, Ahmed bin Hanbal etc. as following the ways of of Prophet Muhammad (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) is the best way? If Imams were correct enough then why do they have different way of offering Salaah? In this case one Imam can be correct while other three may be totally wrong in their practice.
Q:
1. Is it permissible for males to gather at a place on one or more occasions e.g. Masjid, Madrassah or other venue for a weekend to recite the Qur'an; the purpose being to make complete recitation of the Qur'an easy for people, who might not otherwise recite the Qur'an. The analogy to be drawn to substantiate this practice is that of congregational Fardh Salah, which is performed in congregation in order to make it easy for us to perform Salah. Similarly, congregational Dhikr is performed in order to make it easy for one to perform Dhikr.
2. If the aforementioned is permissible, is it permissible to have a requirement of the gathering that one may only leave when they have completed recitation of the Qur'an? Being a student of the Deen, please enlighten with the necessary Shar'i proofs/evidence as to whether such gatherings are permissible, bearing in mind the intention and secondly taking in to account the stipulation mentioned in point (2) above.
NB: My concern regarding this issue is that a gathering of this nature begins to be regarded as necessary or obligatory, which if my understanding is correct, would then make such a gathering impermissible.
Q: On the day of jumuah I told my friend jumuah mubarak. He said there is no hadith to say Jumuah mubaarak. If we say jumuah mubaarak to someone is it wrong?
Q: What are the 4th, 5th and 6th kalimas in Islam? I want to help my kids to memorise them but I also haven't learnt them yet.
1. Can you please give me in writing?
2. What is the importance of memorising them?
Q: I wanted to know what is the consequences of a Muslim who could have unknowingly left the fold of Islam. I uttered a sentence in the gym that said to an extent that there is other gods but I did not mean it in the context that it was said. I was alone in the gym when this happened. As soon as I mumbled those words and realised what I said, I immediately repented because I did not intend to say it, it just came out of my mouth. I'm extremely worried because what I have learned is that Allah doesn't forgive those who leave the fold of Islam. Please advise me because I love Islam and love Allah and the prophet Muhammad (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam).
Q: Is dua in congregation considered a bidah? Is it permissible and advisable?
