Earning interest to pay off an interest bearing loan

Q: I have a brother and a sister. My brother has taken a loan from a bank and has to pay back the loan with interest. My sister wants to open a fixed deposit with the intention of giving the interest earned on the fixed deposit to my brother so he can pay off his own loan. Can she do it, even when my brother has enough income to pay off the loan himself?

Using someone else's student card to get a discount

Q: I currently live in Pretoria and work in Jet Park (I travel about 128km a day to and from work). Currently I use my car everyday to work and back. I have previously looked at the Gautrain as an alternative, however it worked out a little too expensive for me.

Recently, my small brother informed me that he receives a discount on his Gautrain trips (as he is a student) but doesn't use this discount as his campus isn't so far and it's easier for him to drive. As he isn't using this discount- He had offered it to me to use his discount to travel to work.

My question - Would it be permissible to use his discount for my benefit (considering he is a student and I am not)?

Contacting a store after paying less for an item due to an error in their system

Q: I paid less than I should have when I went to the supermarket a few months ago due to an error in their checkout system. I messaged their customer service online on the day and they said “Thank you for your honesty. There's nothing much we can do about it at here at Customer Services but if you do wish to get rid of the difference you can return to the store and speak with the Customer Service desk.”

Am I sinful if I don’t go back and return the difference? I’m not 100% sure if I still have the receipt.

Purchasing gold online

Q: I want to know about forex trading in gold usoil or currencies? What are Islamic teachings and what should be avoided? If the broker is paid directly and dollars are given back directly within that time, is it permissible?

Terminating a mudhaarabah contract

Q: In a business investment, if a person invests his money (let say 100%) and another person invests his efforts and they share the profits as per mutual agreement, then I wonder how this business deal ends in the case where the investor wants to withdraw from the business.

Does he take back everything as he invested 100%, and in general should the person who wants to take up the business have to pay the prinicipal amount invested by the investing person for him to stay away from the business (with a mutual deal)?
